Produced on our farmhouse in Silverbridge in the Heart of South Armagh, you can recreate the smell of rural Ireland in your own home without even owning a fireplace!
With our Incense turf sods placed on the Slate burner and ignited, you will soon be transported back to the old Irish cottages, where warmth and cooking of food were provided by the open fire and sods of turf burning within.
This incense has been specially designed to be easy to ignite with a lasting smoulder that will fill the room with the distinctive smell of an open turf fire.
Each turf sod should burn for approx. 35-45 minutes.
Comes complete with Reclaimed Slate burner with pads to protect surfaces.
Includes 8x solid sods made to burn easily and slowly to fill your home with the original smell of an Irish cottage.
These incense sods are made to be exact miniature replicas of a real Turf sod, sadly selling Turf in Ireland to use as a fuel has been banned and this once distinct aroma smelled throughout the country will diminish over time.
Keep the scent and spirit alive in your own home!
Slates are hand cut and vary slightly in size from 8cm - 10cm, or roughly the size of a credit card, each sod varies from 3cm - 4.5cm. They are natural products and will vary in size, shape and performance when burned.
Each small batch is made by hand and with love in County Armagh ❤️

While not referencing Ireland (sorry) specifically in this review, I was looking to recreate the smells I experienced while touring the peat kilns at a whisky distillery on Islay in Scotland this past fall. They use peat fires to cold smoke the barley used in whisky making and the scent in those kilns is heavenly. This peat incense is remarkably similar to that and I am loving it! A helpful hint: I use a small butane torch lighter that I use to light cigars to light these sticks. Works perfect every time getting them easily lit!
Thanks Ryan!
So glad it helped bring a few memories back from Eire and beyond! Its a great accompaniment for a good Whiskey! You're very right there!!
Reminds me of holidays to Ireland when visiting my granny. Real nostalgia
Brilliant Michelle! Thank you! Great to have the precious memories! x
Smells just like a turf fire- reminds me of a walk in the park on a crisp autumn day when people have started lighting their fires for the start of the colder weather- perfect! Love it and have already purchased the refill pack days after the starter kit. Highly recommend and already have! :-D
Ah class Debbie!! My favourite time of the year too!! :)
Loved the smell. But did take a little while get it properly lit. Hasn’t put me off though, would buy again.
I found them hard to light, so I had to use the gas hob, but it was worth it for the smell
