Carnally, a land born from History
Share
This is our homeland, Carnally (Carn Ailigh)
In the idyllic rural village of Silverbridge, in the heart of South Armagh. Home to the current GAA President, many great gaelic footballers, businesses and families.
A history dotted with difficulty, strife, myth, joy and pride.
The land which we now reside, and make all of our products, was once home to a historic character, known as the rapparee Seamus MacMurphy. A 'robin hood' type of persona with a penchant for drinking and womanising. When he would rob a passing coach he would often use the line "Stop and be robbed by the most Handsome man in Ireland!"
His choice of women, ultimately led to his demise, when his mistress Molly MacDecker was part of a plan to lure MacMurphy into a trap and be arrested. Molly's future would be a sad one based on her betrayal and cooperation with the authorities, ostracised from the community and later took her own life. Her father when collecting the £50 reward was said to have been rewarded in coins, so heavy that he died on his return home carrying them.

The farmhouse and outbuildings that were once home to MacMurphy and his family still stand and are taken care of by the extended family, and also where our journey began...
Our Journey:
Aureal was born in 2019 when we both decided that full-time jobs in the city, and hours of commuting were no way to have an enjoyable life or provide an enjoyable upbringing for our family. We set about making aromatherapy products in our kitchen. A global pandemic happened shortly thereafter and (somewhat unexpectedly) our business took off!
Since then we have created many different products, helped many other local businesses and charities create their own products and now created a truly unique line of products with the sole intention of spreading the love of Ireland and it's scents throughout the world!
Our one true Irish scent we adore, was that of the Turf fire, so we set about trying to capture that and recreate it in as authentic a way possible, presenting it in a way that is sympathetic to the original, familiar to millions and easy to ship anywhere in the world. We are delighted and humbled by the feedback we have received over the years, and achieving great success in all-Ireland business competitions. We read and try to respond to every comment we get and it really does help what we do.
We have many more tricks up our sleeves for the future! and will continue to create products that bring joy and memories to the Irish Diaspora worldwide...
